Samsung Galaxy Z Flip unboxing and camera test – Phandroid

With the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip hitting store shelves and showing up on people’s doorsteps today, we’ve put together an unboxing and camera test with the new device to give you an idea of what you can expect if you are one of those who decide to buy the new foldable smartphone.
At $999, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the most affordable foldable on the market, about $400 less than what the Galaxy Z Flip 5G sold for last year. It’s still not a cheap phone, but I think we can all agree that it’s priced much more attractively when you take a look at the flagship segment as a whole.
Similar to the Galaxy S21 lineup from earlier this year, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes in a much slimmer box. The reason is that Samsung chose not to include a charging brick with the phone. Anyone buying the device will need to use an old charging brick or buy a new one (the UGreen 100W Multi-Device Charger is a great option). You get a USB C charging cable in the box, a SIM card tool, a quick start guide, and a few other documents (mostly from AT&T).
The camera hardware on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 doesn’t really stand out, but the device offers a few unique ways to use them as it offers a cover screen right next to the main and ultra-wide cameras on the outside. This setup will give users great versatility in how they frame their shots, allowing them to take selfies with the outdoor cameras that are significantly better than the 10MP selfie camera indoors.
To give you an idea of the photo and video quality, we’ve also put together a camera test with the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Take a look at the video and photo gallery to see what the cameras of the Z Flip 3 can offer.
