A 15-year-old girl was on the bus this week when a man allegedly pulled up in a car next to her and committed an indecent act by looking directly at her.

Luckily, the teenager filmed the guy and Burnaby RCMP are now looking for more details, hoping to apprehend the suspect.

According to police, they received a report that a driver “was seen masturbating inside a vehicle while at a red light next to a westbound 136 bus on Lougheed Highway near Gaglardi Way at approximately 3:55 p.m.

“This is concerning behavior,” said Cpl. Alexa Hodgins with the Burnaby RCMP. “Police want the public to be aware of this incident and report any similar activity.”

RCMP have shared footage of the suspect in case the public can help identify him.

Daily Hive has received the video from a concerned parent. “This guy pulled up next to the bus my 15-year-old daughter was on,” the parent wrote. In the video, the suspect appears to be wearing no pants as he performs an indecent act while staring at him.

Although the girl did not get the license plate number on the gray vehicle, the incident happened around Gaglardi and Lougheed. The RCMP is therefore looking for anyone with dash cam footage or who knows the person to come forward.

Police say the suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid-50s with a medium to heavy build. He wore a black jacket with white stripes and no pants.

Now investigators are trying to gather more evidence.

“Burnaby RCMP are looking to speak to anyone else, including bus drivers or other bus passengers, who may also have witnessed this indecent act or may have seen the suspect or his vehicle,” RCMP said. .

No other similar behavior has been reported, but Burnaby RCMP are checking with other Lower Mainland jurisdictions to see if there are similar reports.
