Man caught beating dog – NBC Los Angeles

A community is outraged after security cameras capture a disturbing case of animal abuse and investigators scramble to find the man seen beating a dog in a parking lot.
The abuse of a dog was captured on Mike Pedersen’s company security video.
“It’s quite upsetting,” Pedersen said. “You don’t want to see that to a poor little dog.”
For more than 10 minutes, a man appears to be beating a dog inside his car. The abuse continues as they move from the car to the center of a manufacturing company parking lot near Highland Avenue.
Sometimes the man pulls the dog by its leash and then continues to punch and kick the dog repeatedly.
“He chases him, grabs him by the neck, beats him several times, kicks him,” Pedersen said. “You can see the dog cowering and continuing to beat him.”
Pedersen says his company has installed security cameras in the parking lot to catch people dumping there illegally, but what those cameras picked up around 9 p.m. Sunday sparked another cause — to catch this man.
“You want to make sure he gets caught and the dog is taken away from him,” Pedersen said. “And that he won’t have any animals.”
Pedersen fears for the fate of the dog.
“It’s kind of heartbreaking to see this happen to a dog,” he said. “Because you know it’s still happening. It’s probably still happening.”
The dog’s fate was not known nor the extent of his injuries.
